Our names are Sam and Julia and together we began this blog – The Simpler Kitchen – towards the end of 2019.
The Simpler Kitchen Recipes
The name describes our approach to food and cooking. We want to take the stress and difficulty out of cooking by simplifying recipes, sharing shortcuts to good food and providing a little inspiration. We’re all about good, healthy food that doesn’t require 60+ ingredients or leave the kitchen looking like a war zone. So, simple, delicious and wholesome food it is then. Want to join us?
We’re both obsessed with cookbooks and exploring new foodstuffs and discovering new ways of using old favourites. If you’re here then I’m guessing that you like doing that too. Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not greedy so much as curious and there’s a world of interesting ingredients, spices and cuisines to explore.
This blog celebrates good food with recipes that we hope you will find simple to make but will also give you amazing and nutritious results. The wonderful thing about good food made with a little confidence is that it’s fantastic to share with friends and family. So, your social life could flourish too!
We’re also pretty keen on food that doesn’t take absolutely hours and hours to prepare or cook. Who has time for that? Spending less time in the kitchen, however, doesn’t mean that it will result in boring food, far from it. Let us show you how. We’re all about good, simple, healthy and delicious food and include meal-prep ideas whenever possible. Hopefully, this will make life just that little bit easier, freeing up time for that new exercise regime you wanted to start.
Personally, we believe in the power of whole foods and try to avoid processed foods whenever possible. You’ll still find tinned beans and tomatoes in our food cupboard but that’s just reality.
