This is a collection of useful Christmas recipes. Recipes that don’t take long to put together, ones that you can make with excited children around and some that are just quick for when people drop by unexpectedly. ( If that ever happens again.) But whatever Christmas turns out to be this year, I hope that some of these recipes prove useful to you.

Mince Pie Recipe

Not everyone loves mince pies but these easy mince pies are fairly straightforward to make. They look pretty with their different styles of pastry tops; traditional or star shapes. They can be made with children around. Why not get them to fill the pastry cases or cut out the pastry shapes? You can save your own precious time by buying ready-made sweet shortcrust pastry and ready-made mincemeat. If you like making your own then these are some good, reliable recipes that you can use.

So what about a Christmas cake, bursting with dried fruit, topped with marzipan and finished off with icing? You don’t have to be an icing diva to create a delicious, fairly simply iced Christmas cake. Why have a go at this last Minute Christmas cake? You’ll probably never go back to shop-bought again. I know I never did.

This cake is so easy to make. It involves measuring out your ingredients, mixing them together and baking. Not too much that can go wrong but it is important to line the tin properly. You don’t need to be a master baker to do this.
