Whether you’re spending Valentine’s day alone, with friends, family or a special someone, these simple ‘Foodie Treats’ recipes may add a special little something to your day.

In my home, Valentine’s Day also means birthdays. So, for that reason alone, it involves cakes, cards and special dinners. Thinking about simple but special recipes, I’ve pulled a few posts together from the blog, to help make your day fun too. Why not try them for yourself?

What Foodie Treats are part of your Valentine’s Day?

What kind of foods do you indulge in, on special occasions? Is it cakes? Is it chocolates? Or a delicious dessert? Perhaps it’s all of those things.

These recipes are going to help you celebrate too.

The following Truffles recipe is a really simple creation, deliciously chocolatey and with all the different coatings, look great too.

Treat yourself to these healthy Chocolate Truffles. Based on dates and nuts, gently spiced with ginger and cinnamon they’re delicious. Quick and easy to make and with rich chocolatey flavours. Finish them in different ways and make them look really special.

Perhaps you’d just like something special for dessert? None of these recipes are difficult to make and none of them involves slaving in the kitchen for hours either.

Chocolate and Avocado mousse is probably one of the quickest puddings that you could ever make. Doesn’t it look pretty? Dress it up with your favourites berries. How about a few chocolate dipped strawberries to really set them off.

Chocolate Lava Cakes, make a really simple dessert that looks pretty amazing and tastes spectacular. I’m not a fan of the name. I like the sound of melted chocolate pudding, or molten chocolate pudding more… but whatever you call them, these little puddings won’t let you down. And again, you won’t need an afternoon to create them. Quick to make and won’t leave you with a kitchen full of washing up. Suits me.

Serious about chocolate desserts? Then this easy Chocolate Lava Cake recipe is going to blow you away. Chocolate Lava Cakes are wonderfully chocolatey and melt in your mouth. A cross between a souffle and a cake these individual little puddings are simple to make and cook in just 12 minutes.

OK, so there’s a bit of a chocolate theme going on in this post but isn’t Valentine’s Day massively associated with chocolate? Gifts of pleasure.

If you like the combination of chocolate and orange flavours then you’ll be swept away with how wonderful these brownies are. They are deceptively simple to make and are dangerously irresistible.
