Blackberry and Banana Smoothie

A smoothie that celebrates the berries of summer with banana and flax seeds to help make it creamy and thick. It's full of wonderful, healthy ingredients that will make a brilliant start to your day. Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup blackberries
  • 1/4 cup greek yogurt - coconut
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup optional
  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds - ground
  • 1/2 cup milk preferred kind

Instructions

  • Pile your ingredients into your blender and blend.
  • Serve in a nice tall glass and enjoy!

Notes

  • Add the ingredients to a jug and blend with a stick blender.  There is nothing in this recipe that will prove difficult to mash up so it will do a good job.
  • This makes one large glass or two small glasses of delicous purple smoothie.
  • Make this vegan by using a vegan suitable milk and greek yogurt. There a lots to choose from these days. Check the labels.
  • Make this gluten-free by checking that the greek yogurt is gluten-free some types use thickeners which may not be suitable.  Always check your product labels if you are unsure.
